Wildbriar History
In
1999, Wildbriar Subdivision was begun by Briar Creek
Cattle Co. LLP, a family owned enterprise.
The land was previously used for beef cattle
production.
Rolling
hills and majestic trees, as well as its proximity
to Mississippi State University, made the area ideal
for real estate development.
Also, the terrain was perfect for
constructing a dam to produce a large lake.
In
2002, Briar Creek Utilities was formed to construct
a community wastewater treatment lagoon.
Upon completion, the four acre lagoon was
inspected and approved by the Mississippi Department
of Environmental Quality.
In
2003 construction was begun on the lake levee,
roads, water lines, sewer lines and underground
electricity. Twelve of the lakefront lots were sold to individuals and
developers.
In
2004 the first home on the lake was completed and
the new homeowners are now enjoying the peace and
tranquility that comes with living on the water in
the midst of spectacular natural beauty.
A
design for the Artesia Road Entrance has been
completed and work is expected to begin soon on
construction.
Future
projects include paving of all roads to lakefront
and lake view lots and completion of a boat ramp. |
